First Set of Audio Files for 1st Year Chinese
The first set of audio files are here. They audio files are in MP3 format, and, usually, there are accompanying notes for the file. If so, that file is in PDF format. You will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader, FoxIt or another piece of software to read the notes. Both files can be downloaded.
| Basic Greetings | MP3 | |
| Where Are You From? | MP3 | |
| Where Are You Going? | MP3 | |
| Shopping 1 | MP3 | |
| The Four Tones | MP3 | no PDF |
| Numbers | MP3 |
What to Do
Download these files, listen to them, (and, if there are notes) read them, but, mostly, enjoy them. These files are produced by young expats living in Shanghai and young Chinese from China (mainly Shanghai). The files are very contemporary and highlight clear pronunciation and actual usage of Chinese as spoken by young people living in China.
About the files
Most of the files you'll find on this site are from the original set of audio files from ChinesePod before it became a pay site. I also plan to add audio files from CSLPod, a Chinese knock-off. The files here are supplementary to the dialogs we're learning in class and contain other (good) vocabulary words.
